DIY: Dainty New Take on Light Strands

February 10, 2011 § Leave a comment

I came across this cute idea on HomeLife. You just cut vellum paper into a layered shape (they use simple flowers) and poke each little light bulb through the stack of 3 or 4 flowers. What a great way to make us of stuff collecting dust in your attic!

I’d suggest keeping it monochromatic or just have 2 colors to keep it looking elegant. To cut costs and time, you could just do a flower cover every 3rd or fifth bulb. Also keep in mind there are light strand with white wire as opposed to dark green, which may go better with the rest of your decor. They also make some really pretty bulbs in different shapes. I think the little rounds ones would go great if you’re doing flowers.
